Home Care Aide Requirements + Hiring Process

In California, every home care aide must be registered and licensed with the State to work for an insured and bonded agency like ours. Here’s the good news: this license is yours to keep. Once you have it, you can work at any home care organization throughout California—it stays with you no matter where your career takes you.

What You’ll Need:

Home Care Aide (HCA) License
You must be a registered and licensed Home Care Aide. New to this? Learn about registration and licensing for Home Care Aide (HCA).

Background Clearance
A background check is completed as part of our onboarding process—simple and straightforward.

Core Competency Certification
Proof of core competency certification is required. Don’t have it yet? No problem! Beacon Home Care provides free access to our core competency certification program.
